Hi, I have just fixed some of the xslt files for version 4.5. You may download them here: http://personal.idseefeld.de/umb/blog4umbraco_v4.5_xslt.zip Just replace the files in the /xslt folder. I will also send them to Tim for updating the package.
Regarding the XSLT, I just added some XSLT changes to accommodate the PostDate to the source, but it hasn't made it into a release yet.
As for the duplicate foldering, I have a fresh install of Blog4Umbraco_2.0.26_for_4.5 and I'm not
seeing that behavior. Is this a local install? Do you have multiple entries in the DB or just in the tree? (I know you said they have the same nodeID, but I'm curious as to whether it is creating multiple nodes from the same DB Node entry or whether it is creating multiple DB entries with the same node ID.)
Please note that it looks like the Blog4Umbraco_2.0.26_for_4.5 incorporated the PostDate updates, where the Blog4Umbraco_2.0.26 does not. So the two packages handle autofoldering differently. The pre 4.5 version places the item in the auto folder structure upon creation, but the 4.5 version uses the post date to place it in a structure when publishing. Please check to verify if that is what you observe.
Thanks for the information. I'm just trying to understand the environment to see if we
can identify a root cause. Does this happen every time you create a new
node, just the first time or under a particular publishing scenario?
Did you change any of the Alias values of the DocumentTypes? Are there
any errors being thrown in the Log table?
I'm not able to recreate, but perhaps I'm doing something different. I tried adding the Blog4Umbraco for 4.5 to a new site and created the blog during installation per the prompts. I then created a new Post and saved some content. Finally I used the context menu to publish by selecting the Blog and clicking Publish and checking both boxes. Does that sound similar to your original steps?
Great. I'll try these steps and see if I can recreate.
For the Log, your DB should have a table called umbracoLog. There is also a package for viewing the log data in your Umbraco UI, but I don't know if it has been updated for 4.5.
For the tag cloud page, try the following. Go to the developer section, pull up the BlogTagcloud.xslt. Highlight all of the text and select the visualize XSLT button. Choose the Tag Cloud page and click Visualize XSLT. Do your tags show up? If so, now visit the page. Do they show up there now or do you still get an error? (This has worked for me twice now, but I haven't had time to try to figure out why).
Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes if you want you can send your DB and files to umbraco at webangelo dot net. If they end up being too large I can set up an FTP location you can place them.
install Business Website Starter Pack package, publish the pages of the BWSP pages, then install blog 4 umbraco and publish the pages of the blog, then create a blog post and publish it.
i did a fresh install, and those are the steps i did, it happened again.
Is this now updated for v4.5?
Just checking.. Or I could not be a lazy b**tard and just download and check the XSLT :|
check this page: http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/packaging/umbraco-45-compatibility/umbraco-45-package-testing
Thanks, I was just hoping that it had been finished as that page has said testing for while
If you check the attached files on the project you'll see the Blog4Umbraco_2.0.26_for_4.5.zip file

Its already been updated for 4.5, you don't need to be doing anything?? See Tims previous post and look on the project page at the bottom....
i downloaded Blog4Umbraco_2.0.26_for_4.5 but i got an error in the tag cloud xlst, then i tryed the xlsts here :)
seems like it's the problem of auto folders

i installed on umbraco installion that made only for testing packages.
i checked the database, it created multiple DB enteries with the same node ID.
i didn't upgrade from previous installation of blog4umbraco if that's what u want to know (fresh installation)
one more thing i forgot to mention, after i installed it, i published it from the context menu and checked both options on the dialog window.

1. it happens every time i publish.
2 . i didn't change anything, created a post under blog folder, and then save and publish.
3. where can i see the log table you're talking about?
4. my steps:
1.installed package from local package.
2. updated the xlst files becaue the error of tag cloud page (but i guess that doesnt matter)
3. published the blog folder from the context menu (checked both boxes)
4. created a post for testing
thats it.
Great. I'll try these steps and see if I can recreate.

no "Error" related to this situation
Eran,
Just to follow up, I still haven't been able to recreate the duplication. I'm going to try a few more things, so I haven't given up yet.
--Chris
maybe do u want my db and files ?
so u can check it out ?
Eran,
Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes if you want you can send your DB and files to umbraco at webangelo dot net. If they end up being too large I can set up an FTP location you can place them.

before i send it , try one more thing.
install Business Website Starter Pack package, publish the pages of the BWSP pages, then install blog 4 umbraco and publish the pages of the blog, then create a blog post and publish it.
i did a fresh install, and those are the steps i did, it happened again.
Eran,
Hmm... I tried those steps, but it's still only producing one version of each Post on my box. Curiouser and curiouser.
--Chris
i've sent you an email
check it out.
Any resolution to this? Similar but not quite idential issues to Eran.
is working on a reply...
