Error - file not found. Could find file named 'C:\xxxxx\xxxxx\App_Data\'

    Hi,

Working on a new project using Umbraco 4.7.1 and have tried to install the blog 4 Umbraco package.  But keep getting the following message:

Error - file not found. Could find file named 'C:\xxxxx\xxxxx\App_Data\'

During the build I've installed other packages, just seem to be the blog 4 Umbraco package that won't install.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Eddie

Any chance of telling us *how* you got it working locally?

Never mind, I have absolutely no idea why installing from the Package repository isn't working, but for clarity here are the steps I used to get Blog for Umbraco to install (well, it's still processing, actually):

    • Go to codeplex and download the package (http://blog4umbraco.codeplex.com/)
    • Store the package in an appropriate directory (i.e. Project/ThirdParty/)
    • Open the 'Developer' tag in the Umbraco backend
    • Select 'Install local package'
    • Wait anywhere between 2 and 16 minutes for the page to load
    • Check the box to say you know of the security implications
    • Browse for the *.zip file (don't unpack it) and select
    • Accept the license and action the install
    • Hang around another ~30 minutes for it to process
    • Proceed by giving the blog a 'Name' and 'Description'
    • Hang around another ~15 minutes for it to process

I am having this issue too?

Why cannot I install from Package Repository directly from the app?

I thought it was so cool I could install addons right from the tool, but it doesn't work?

Thanks Asif - a huge high five from me!

Turning off UseLegacyXmlSchema worked for me even with a 6.1.6 site. And then turning it back on after installing needed packages.

An extra note is that the package repository also doesn't work if umbracoUseSSL is turned on. All requests to packages.umbraco.org are hardcoded to HTTP in the backend.

    Regards Rune
