It's been
a while since we packaged a new template for Umbraco. So today
we've released a new W3C-compliant, CSS-based Umbraco template
based on an original HTML/CSS design from the good guys at StyleShout.com.
Jungleland
v1.0 is a really beautiful design template using earthy tones
and a really attractive layout. To make use of Jungleland for
Runway ou'll need to have Umbraco 4 installed, with the Runway and
Runway Top Navigation packages installed. More instructions
can be found on our homepage.
Jungleland v1.0 for Runway is released under the Creative
Commons Attribution 2.5 License, which means that you can use the
template for free on your site, as long as your attribute the work
to StyleShout.com and to Orcare Limited with links back to both
sites.
This is the first template we've sliced up and packaged since
seeing Doug Robar's presentation at CodeGarden '09 on Things he
wished he knew when starting with Umbraco. A great suggestion
that Doug made is that images in CSS don't belong in the Media
library, instead they should be referenced from a directory on your
site. This prevents site editors from breaking the CSS
templates by deleting items from the Media Library. But we've
found it seriously reduces the effort involved in slicing and
dicing design templates. No longer do we need to upload all
the images to the library then edit all the css to point to new
unique URLs in the Media section.
So with that in mind, hopefully you'll see more templates from
us soon.
Download the Jungleland v1.0 template from the Template
Gallery.
It's not validating, though. -But the errors should be quite easy to fix:
1. line 33 column 66 - Error: end tag for element "umbraco:Item" which is not open. 2. line 34 column 82 - Error: end tag for element "umbraco:Item" which is not open. 3. line 330 column 8 - Error: ID "topnavigation" already defined. 4. line 37 column 11 - Info: ID "topnavigation" first defined here.
I've fixed the bug with topnavigation being defined twice. I can't see the error's regarding umbraco:item. Can you point me to an install you have with these errors.
