Problem with Ucomment Dashboard: immortal comments

    <!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; direction: ltr; color: #000000; widows: 2; orphans: 2 } -->

    Hi there!

First of all, thanks to Umbraco team for a great CMS. Also thanks to the author of Ucomment package, which I found very useful for my site.

I’m rather new to Umbraco, but I’ve already understood most common umbraco concepts and packages. Anyway, sorry if the question below is not correctly formulated or something else is wrong with me :)

So here is my question. I’m trying to implement Ucomment package to my sports site. Everything goes fine: messages are successfully saved and displayed both on the page and the dashboard admin panel. But I’m unable to delete or mark them as a spam. When I press “mark as spam” - nothing happens at all. The same situation with “delete selected”. When pressing usual “delete” – the messagebox appears: “Are you sure you want to delete this comment?” Pressing “OK” leads to nothing, as you probably guessed. :)

I found a similar problem’s discussion here. The advised solution was to remove “Change password” control via editing Dashboard.config file. I’ve tried it, but no effect at all. Also tried to remove all dashboard controls in content tab, leaving only “Comments” control – still no effect. Seems like this comments are immortal at my site :)

Has anyone an idea why could it happen? Any solutions?

My configuration is: Umbraco 4.9.0, Win7, IIS 7.5, IE9. Also have all printscreens, installed packages list and a dashboard.config (can put them there, if that would help).

Would be glad for any help, and thanks again!

Had the exact same problem and I moved the 'change password' tab to Users. Not ideal as I will now undoubtedly get calls asking where the changes password tab has gone and most users cannot access the 'Users' section as they are not admin.

    I am using Unbraco 4.7

    UComment 1.2

Rich, as I've wrote before, I've already tried to remove 'change password' tab at all. And all other tabs in 'Content' too. Nothing of this helps, still immortal comments.

Maybe there may be some other solution? Or any hint how to find it, where to start digging?

    Anyway, thanks for you reply.

    Hi, Patrick!

Sorry, I don't remember what was the problem exactly.

Seems like I've downloaded the Ucomments source code and debugged it in VS to find the problem.

As far as I remember, I had to make a small fix somewhere in Ucomments solution, maybe it was a problem with DataReader or collections.

Anyway - try to debug the uccoments solution.

If you need any assist in that - feel free to ask a question.
