As @Nik mentioned, we are indeed on with a v8 rebuild so it's very much in the pipeline.
The task of updating it is a big and breaking one, so to save on disruption down the line, we are trying to cleanup and strengthen as many concepts as we can in order to make it great foundation for the future.
Unfortunately the quicker than expected release of v8 did mess with our timings a bit, but we are hoping to have some kind of preview by the end of the year / early next year (work dependent).
I'm really keen to get the v8 version out there, but there is a little longer to wait for now.
Rest assured though, we will keep people well informed of when it will be released, and we will ensure all TC customers remain supported.
Support for V8

can you say something about support for Umbraco 8? Is something in the pipeline?

Outfield Digital (Matt), is completely re-writing Tea Commerce for v8. So yes, support for v8 is coming however it's a big task.
