Is it possible to use existing umbraco nodes as products for ucommerce? Bascially we are about to start work on a website its a phased approach we are going to migrate the existing site into umbraco one of the document types will be project. This will effectively be the product when we get to phase 2 and implement uCommerce
Is it possible to have products that are donations eg the web user can specifiy how much to pay to a project?
1) Content cannot be used as products for uCommerce as the product and content are separate in our model. You could go with uCommerce Free Edition for your first implementation phase and just use the catalog piece of it, which would make it straightforward to add the transaction piece later on.
It's possible to not use the catalog piece at all and just use uCommerce for checkout. It would make sense if you don't expect to have a lot of products and if you like Umbraco better for maintaining the catalog.
One caveat to this approach is that you'll have to create order lines manually, but it is doable.

2) Yep. The site www.klassekonto.dk is a live example of just that :)
Hope this helps.
Soren,
Excellent will probably go with your suggested approach of using free edition to get us up and running then upgrade.
