Great stuff! Been waiting for this for ages. :) Just upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1 as we speak to i can take it for a spin. Will let you know how i get on.
Do you have a set of scripts and templates etc for the basic features akin to the demo store in the previous version?
I dont mind if they are basic with no styling etc... im just still very new to Umbraco v5 and obviously UC3 and it would be a great help in my learning.
1. My Umbraco 5 install was 5.0 so i upgraded to 5.1 and then installed ucommerce3 and all went well!
2. Went to the umbraco tab and I got a RTE... good start i though! Then i realised it was me that was the issue! Like a numpty i forgot my U5 install was running on SQL CE! So first task was to test the uninstall! lol Which again went well. Nice clean uninstall.
Maybe there could be a built in database check to stop this happeneing - might be chicken and egg though i guess!? I did wonder how the install maanged to succed if it couldnt access SQL?
3. I create a new db on sqlexpress and after the install, because id already downloaded UC3 it was listed as a starter kit. Hmm.. Will that work? Well yes it did! :)
4. Cracked open ucommerce and all the backend is there and working with some default products loaded.
5. Im now a bit stuck because i dont know enough about U5. Hoping you can send me some scripts to get me going again. I dont know if i need to be building plug-ins (surface controllers) or just scripts and macros. Also... whats the API? Has it changed etc...
I'll have a bit more of a play and see if i can do some basic tasks like list the products etc... with scripts using my old scripts with some tweaks until you come back to me.
Well after fighting umbraco for a bit i've worked out how to create a basic menu from the demo catalog but now im stuck on how to map URL's to the templates!
Ive hunted about but not managed to pinpoint where the urlrewriting is done to map to my templates etc... Can you point me in the right direction?
We were going to do a Razor starter store for Umbraco 5, but with the recent announcement that Umbraco 5 is replaced by 4 we'll go ahead and do the site for 4 instead.
uCommerce 3 for Umbraco 5 *beta 1 available*
